Water and earth are two of the four ancient elements of creation. One of the Iranian
goddesses is Anahita, meaning pure. She is the guardian goddess of the entire waters on
Earth. Angel of water challenges the demons of drought with her chariot, driven by four
horses – rain, clouds, hailstone and wind – and conquers them. Anahita, goddess of
waters, fertility, prosperity, blessing, love, motherhood, birth and victory, has been
acknowledged as the guardian of the Spirit of Waters. Anahita is a goddess, who is
appointed by Ahura-Mazda to guard the entire beings.
Water is the symbol of prosperity, life, fertility, freshness and purity. The Earth,
associated with planting, creation, cultivation, growth and comfort, is the symbol of
woman. The Earth is the mother; a woman, flexible and stable, the cycle of life.
